  • Client Consultation and Relationship Management: engage with clients to understand their travel requirements, providing tailored recommendations and maintaining strong, ongoing relationships to ensure high client satisfaction.
  • Client Proposals and Presentations: prepare and present detailed proposals and itineraries, showcasing a clear understanding of the client’s needs and the unique offering available.
  • Budget Management: Develop cost-effective solutions that align with client budgets, negotiating rates with suppliers and ensuring all financial aspects of each project are well managed.
  • Brief Travel Executive for suppliers’ coordination needed in the execution of each project (collaboration with hotels, transportation providers, event venues, and other suppliers to secure optimal arrangements, establish rates, and handle booking logistics).
  • Emergency contact availability for travel journeys of your clients.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Quickly address any last-minute changes or challenges that arise, demonstrating flexibility and resourcefulness to meet client expectations.
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are followed, quality standards are met, and that travel projects are executed within the planned budget and timeframe.
  • Coordination with the Accounting team: handle all necessary communication and documentation for the payment process by clients and retribution to suppliers.
  • Post-Travel/ Post-Event Follow-up: Conduct post-event communications with clients to gather feedback, assess successes and areas for improvement, and nurture the client relationship for future business.
  • Market Research and Trend Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, destination knowledge, and emerging opportunities to deliver innovative and relevant travel solutions.

Induction process

  • The Travel Consultant will have up to 8 months’ induction (duration depends on your experience) in direct collaboration with Director of Travel Services.

Reporting

Travel Consultant reports to Director of Travel Services.

Location

  • The position is based in Athens’s city center, Greece
  • Traveling to Greece or out of office requirements may happen at a non-regular basis

Type of employment

  • Full-time on-site
  • Salary based on experience

Skills and Experience

 

Academic

  • Studies in Hospitality and Tourism, Business Administration or Similar
  • Knowledge of MICE industry would be an asset
  • International exposure would be an asset

Work Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in a travel agency

Technical Skills

  • Proficient knowledge and command of French, English and Greek languages in written and oral (Advanced knowledge of other languages will be an asset)
  • Understanding of Tourism concepts
  • Proficient knowledge of Greek touristic landscape
  • Proficient knowledge of technical touristic terminology
  • Advanced knowledge of Greece and motivation to explore more
  • Experience with group and individuals’ travelers
  • Proficiency knowledge of major IT applications (MS office, Outlook etc.). Ability and willingness to learn platforms that may be required for the daily operation of the agency.

  • Proven client management skills and demonstrated ability to work and influence executives and C-level management
  • Persuasive and confident approach to projects handling
  • Patience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Motivated, goal oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator
  • High level of initiative and work well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well by paying attention to details
